Very interesting book. I finally understand why my hormones are out of balance. This book makes a ton of sense to me especially after reading Carol Tuttles type book. I am a thyroid type and it explains so much to me. Why I haven't been able to drop the weight for 8 years after trying many times. It explains my sugar addiction that has driven me crazy and why I gain weight where I do and why I am tired all the time. Why skipping breakfast is so easy. I have tried incorporating lots of this book Very interesting book. I finally understand why my hormones are out of balance. So It's been a month and I have lost 10 pounds! WHat is even better is it hasn't been as hard as I thought. The supplements he recommends really do help stop cravings and help the systems in your body work better. If you have ever had issues with Thyroid, Adrenals, hormones or pituitary this book is a must read. I think it is even balancing out my gut. Really happy I have found so many answers in this book.
UPDATE::: It's almost been 3 months and I have lost almost 20 pounds. I am pretty happy with the results and still am using the information from this book. Not only do I look better but I feel better too. My hormones are evening out, I have less bad days emotionally. My period has been cramp-less and less flow. My skin is so clear. I am still not craving sugar like an addict. I am off my thyroid and plexus drink that I lived on to keep me awake. I have a lot more energy and focus. I feel so strong and confident. I also have the value of knowledge for the future and how to eat for the rest of my life. Seriously happy I not only read this book but decided to try it out.

The basic theory is that we have different body shapes and we all fit into one of those groups. Each group has certain needs and if we take the questionnaire we can determine which group we belong to and then we can eat and live accordingly. I found the book to be interesting and I agree that we all cannot be boxed in the same category and eat the same things and expect the same results. I also believe that body shape and blood type and other DNA factors do determine how you should live. Hmph. I understand the reasoning behind eating for your body type and I am clearly a certain body type but dude? Lost all respect for you when you tell me to not lift more than 6 pounds. Can't take you seriously now. (Though, the diet aspect was pretty spot on for my needs, lines up exactly with my naturopathic testing.) Hmph. One human's poison is another's meat.
Through my experience, I've known diets are not a fit for all; even an apple can cause serious issues for one and amazing benefits for another.
You must have any of the bodytypes described in the book to know that this is both a life saver and master piece.
I have the pituitary body type.
Losing the baby fat all over and gaining muscles, and having thyroid issues solved....
It's not been easy for me to improve my physical health and appearance.

Good to learn more about different body types tied to glandular health. The diet seems sound, but the recommended exercises seem out of date. It definitely made me curious about the different glands and how they affect the body. One takeaway I got out of this is that knowing one's body is the first step to fitness success.

this is a great book. I'm done with it and I have noticed I feel better. I can't wait to see myself in a week, two weeks, month and on down the road. I think if I make it past the 3 weeks with out sugar I might give up sugar entirely, and only eat fruit once or twice a week. I'm glad a friend turned me onto this book. excellent if you aren't seeing the results you want, maybe its your body type??? this is a great book. I'm done with it and I have noticed I feel better. This offers insight into the world of glands and how food and lifestyle can affect these glands. It delves into helping the individual figure out their body type and what foods will help rest their dominant gland and help repair it while stimulating the other glands to work harder to make up the difference. It is not extreme and I like that. It also discusses the best exercise for each body type, stretches and vitamins.

Individualized weight management. Signs and symptoms help determine which glands have been over or under stimulated, and a prescriptive diet helps to overcome the issues. I'm not thrilled with some of the way he refers to types of physiques, as it seems like he is being judgmental instead of just descriptive. The concept of a diet based upon your body type is pretty logical. Taking the body type test, even though it definitely places in one body type, I absolutely disagree with parts of it and fit completely with another type. I don't think the amount of food is necessarily adequate. This updated version was published in 1999 and is long overdue for an update. Not recommended. I disagree with his methods and reasoning. He did not cause me to believe these methods. I am not convinced that different bodies need drastically different foods. Veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, natural as possible, and movement...period.
